MACHU PICCHU - SANTA TERESA
(2 days / 1 night)

With this program, we will visit one wonder of the world: Machu Picchu, but we will also have the possibility to visit a natural attraction of great beauty, the “Santa Teresa thermal baths”, known as “Cocalmavo”.

DAY 1: AGUAS CALIENTES – MACHU PICCHU

Our journey starts in Cusco, we will pick you up at the hotel early to travel to Ollantaytambo, situated in the Sacred Valley, here there is the train station, where we will board the train that will takes us to Aguas Calientes. The train journey will las around 2 hours; upon reaching Aguas Calientes, we will assist you and take you to the bus station, to head to our destination, the Machu Picchu citadel, which is located at the top of the mountain. We will meet our guide who will tell us the history and describe the most important sites of the Inca city. The guided tour will last approximately 2 hours; later you will have time to explore Machu Picchu freely and take the best photos of your visit. Upon finishing the tour, we will return by bus to Aguas Calientes, we will have time to have lunch, explore the village or visit the Hot Springs. This night we will stay overnight in a hotel in Aguas Calientes.

DAY 2: THERMAL BATHS OF COCALMAYO - CUSCO

We will have breakfast at the hotel and we will board the train from Aguas Calientes to Hidroelectrica, a strategic point where one of the agency´s staff will be waiting for you to take you to the thermal baths of “Cocalmayo”, situated in the south-east of La Convencion province of Cusco, on the left bank of Urubamba river, at the height of 1600masl. The complex of hot springs has 3 pools of different sizes and depths, which are supplied with medicinal water, that varies between 40-44 degrees Celsius. They differ mainly from other springs in Peru by the crystalline waters. These medicinal waters possess properties to treat skin ulcers, bone pains and rheumatism. They are ideal for a good rest after the walk to the Machu Picchu sights. After this gratifying experience we will transfer to the populated place of Santa Teresa, where our bus will pick us up around 3 in the afternoon to take us to the city of Cusco. We will reach Cusco around 9 in the evening.
