Tour: Tambopata - Collpa de Guacamayos and Sandoval Lake

DAY 1: MALDONADO PORT - AMAZON PORT

Reception at the bus station to be taken to the office of Monte Amazónico lodge for the corresponding records. In case you have large suitcases, we suggest you re-pack and carry only what is necessary. You will be transfer by car (4X4) to our destination for approximately 2 hours until reaching the banks of the Tambopata River. In this place we will take a boat to the lodge "Monte Amazónico - Tambopata".You will be welcome and rooms will be assigned, then you will have a delicious lunch. In the afternoon, we will make an introductory walk to the rainforest where we will have the opportunity to see animals in their natural habitat such as amphibians, mammals, reptiles and wonderful insects, among others. Night of lodging at “Monte Amazónico”

DAY 2: COLLPA CHUNCHO

You will wake up around 4:30 am to go to the largest world Macaws Clay better known as COLLPA CHUNCHO, it is a trip on boat that lasts 1 and a half hour approximately, on the route you will have the great opportunity to watch some species like capybaras which are the biggest rodents,tapirs, and you can even see the most beautiful South American feline, the jaguar, many of our clients are witnesses with photographic evidence of encounters with these beautiful mammals.

Once we get to the Clay of macaws, you will see hundreds of different parrots species that come to eat wall clay adjacent to the river.Then you will wait for beautiful,spectacular and most natural show of the birdlife of the world. After parrots show, the 3 most colorful species of macaws from America show is next, the red ones,the green ones, the blue ones, and the yellow ones come together to eat their necessary and everyday diet wall clay and also to eliminate toxins. If you are lucky you will have the opportunity to watch hundreds of this amazing birds flying above you.
After a good breakfast, our boat will take you to the return transport to Puerto Maldonado that will take one hour ride to your lodge and your setting- up to your rooms. After lunch, you will visit “The Monkey Island”, located in front of the lodge crossing Madre de Dios river where you will find several kinds of monkeys such as the capuchin monkey family , the friar monkey that lives on island.
When night comes you will be taken to look for white alligators that usually are on sandbars on the river of Madre de Dios, flashlights are required. Also you will meet the largest rodent that could weight about 60 kg known as Capybara. You will return to the lodge to have dinner and rest. A night lodge in “Monte Amazonico”

DAY 3: SANDOVAL LAKE

After breakfast you will hike about 3 km. In the middle of the dense and tropical jungle you will be lead to the Sandoval lake (piranha habitat), one of the largest of the National Reserve of Tambopata, after you will take a rowing boat,meanwhile, you will appreciate a different kind of birds and monkeys from different species and also hoacin, cormorant, jacanas, puma heron, chickens, cotomono, monk friar, black machin, pichicos and sloths.
Maybe we will have an encounter with the giant otter family (almost two meters long) that is in danger of extinction and the largest registered alligators of more than 4 meters long. You will return to the Lodge to enjoy a typical lunch.

At night,you will have a walk where you can appreciate the diversity of species of insects, amphibians, reptiles and other nocturnal animals. - dinner and rest.
